What is a good age to let your daughter start wearing thongs?

I don't exactly how else to word this question but for moms out there, What would be a good age to allow your daughter to start wearing thongs, instead of just reg panties. I mean obviously some thongs can be pretty provacative but what age is appropriate?

1. I was ready at about 14 I was interested into what the big fuss was. I didn't show them off or anything. Whenever she feels ready then let her unless she wants to wear then at like 9 or 10 thats way to young lol.
2. Thongs are great because they don't show panty lines through clothes. I would say around junior high age. There are cute ones that aren't sexy. My feelings may completely change when my daughter is older, but I really don't see the harm in it.
3. Well, to be honest I don't think any age is appropriate for a thong. If she absolutely insists on wearing one, tell her she can wear them when she gets a job and can buy them herself. I would refuse to buy them. I have a teenage son and I know what boys think of girls who wear those things.

I know i'm going to get thumbs down for this but I say 18yrs old, most of the time girls buy pretty thong panties to show them off (at least that's why me & my husband get them) regular panties are not uncomfortable & there are plenty of ways she can still feel girly. Letting her wear some make up, getting her hair & her nails done, even taking her to go get glamour shots taken would be fun. I don't really see why it's at all necessary, I'm not saying all girls wear thongs for that reason but I definitely wouldn't open that door if it was one of my daughters.

13. Well, if I were my mother, I'd say never, but otherwise, I'd say about 14 or 15. As you said, they can get pretty provocative, so I'd shop with her and make sure she's getting something appropriate.
14. I don't see the big deal about a girl wearing a thong. If she wants to wear it then let her.
15. When she is 18 and can support herself. That's when she gets to decide what's appropriate and what's not. Otherwise, under your roof, you get to decide.

19. when i got my first thong i was 12 they were cute not sexy and provacative and i didnt show them or anything sometimes i still wore my reg panties i dont think it really matters but i think under 12 that would be too young maybe when they get to high school ...be more mature
20. 18 why the hell would you want to let your little girl wear thongs. i am starting to think a teenager asked this. my mom never allowed them when i was under 18 and i will do the same with my girls, sorry thongs are viewed as sexual and no little girl should be wearing them added health note thongs are linked to urinary tract infections and yeast infections. fecal matter is moved very easily on these underwear. no one should wear them specially young girls who are just getting started with pubery
21. This is sad..... Anyway, my answer to your question is the following: Your the parent... you decide when, you decide what, you decide how, you decide where, and you decide why!!!!!! I don't have a daughter yet, nor am I a parent, but I would allow her to start to wear thongs when she is at least 18 years old.

25. Never. Thongs are sexual objects that send the wrong message to boys and they look trashy. They are sexually exploiting the girl and she is inviting herself to be raped by wearing them.

So it depends on how ur opinion is to how to raise a good kid and not one who will end up in the streets. thongs,g string are not made for kids because are provactive and are sexy. kids these days are trying to grow up way to fast and it is our jobs as mothers to help them slow down and keep their innocents longer. enough preaching- i would say 18-20 yrs old depending on maturity. before that -NO. why would they need to wear a thong????
